This VMWare training course is a natural continuation to its predecessor - VMware Infrastructure 3 : Install and Configure. With the successful completion of this course and passing the exam, you will be eligible to be a VMWare Certified Professional.
This training course itself covers several linked area's - performing scripted installations of ESX servers, Service Console security, monitoring of ESX servers, VMware HA, Distributed Resource Scheduling, VMware Consolidated Backup and fault analysis.
Completion of the course will give you the necessary knowledge to be able to perform the following functions:
• Perform scripted installations
• Learn specific commands used to administer an ESX server
• Understand and configure security on the Service Console
• Monitor Virtual Infrastructure
• Configure and implement VMware HA, DRS and VCB
• Perform fault analysis in Virtual Infrastructure
Entry Level for Participants wanting to attend VMware Infrastructure 3 : Deploy, Secure & Analyze
All participants shoudl ensure they have met the following criteria before registering on this VMware course:
• Pass a short online pre training course test to a satisfactory standard.
• Feel confident and comfortable using basic Linux commands (such as ls and cp). Additionally, be versed in using a Linux text editor.
Recommended - the following criteria are not essential, but come highly recommended before embarking on this VMware training course :
• Have attended and completed training in VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure or VMware Infrastructure 3: What’s New (In conjunction with Virtual Infrastructure w/ESX Server and VirtualCenter), or have equivalent experience with VMware Infrastructure.

To gain the status VMware Certified Professional is extremely simple, and revolves around a 3 step process:
Firstly, take part in a VMWare authorised training course which is hosted by a qualified instructor - we always recommend having an instructor led training course as it enables a higher level of learning with best practises within the VMware training structures and allows you to participate in invaluable hands on simulated VMWare scenerio's.
Secondly, if you already are a VMware Certified Professional, there are no entry requirements to any of the VMWare training Course's - but you will still gain hands-on experience with VMware.
